About the Founder:
Hello – I am Catherine.
Why did I name my business Rinebooks? In the beginning it was Bookkeeping By Rine. Rine being the last 4 letters of my name and Rine is unique in a world wide web full of Cathy’s, Catherine’s and Caty’s. Let alone the question of is that with a “K” or “C”. What happened in the real world is that everyone thinks either my first name or last name is Rine or Rind. Which can be fun, but is mostly just confusing. So – I changed it to be Rinebooks and I like to work in Quickbooks! 😉
Why did I choose bookkeeping? It is a natural fit. I was in the corporate world for 20 years, with 15 of those years being in Internal Controls (Audit) or Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). My Audit experience ranged from Financial (SOX) Compliance Auditing to Operational Audits with a few specialized topics of IT Audit tossed into the mix. FP&A included monthly, quarterly and annual data analysis along with plenty of chasing down P-Card charges and managing relationships with operational leaders. A primary focus of this role was creating Annual Budgets and Quarterly Outlooking. I enjoyed this work and it is how I know bookkeeping is the right fit for me!
My goal is to utilize my prior experience to help other small business owners in an area that may not be their expertise. I get to do what I enjoy and I get to make someone else’s life/work balance better. I believe my experience is key to providing a great bookkeeping service, along with my mission to get quality controls in place to prevent fraud wherever appropriate.
